One power couple who loves to remind us they still like to fuck is Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union. To say they like to keep our stomachs churning with their spicy love is an understatement, but they also share a love for each other’s finances. Last month, people questioned the finances in their household after Gabrielle’s discussion about the matter during an interview on the Black Millionaires podcast. The internet says that Gabrielle’s net worth is $40 million while Dwayne’s is a reported $170 million. So many had thoughts when Gabrielle said that she and Dwayne split all their bills 50/50. But now, Dwyane is letting everyone know that there is a 50/50 split with the finances in their household. And this will probably be the last time either speaks on this matter again.

Earlier this year, Gabrielle did an interview where she admitted infidelity was a perk of her first marriage and that karma came back to bite her in the ass during her relationship with D-Wade. When breaking down her finances, Union revealed the financial structure of her household with her husband, Dwyane Wade.

“It’s weird to say that I’m the head of the household because in this household, we split everything 50/50,” Union shared.

“But in the other households that each of us has to support, there’s always like this gorilla on your back that is like you better work,” she added. “You gonna sleep in? Somebody might not eat. And it’s hard. It’s hard to let that go, so I’m working on it.”

Gabrielle’s candid answer about her personal business garnered a reaction from people who, of course, had serious thoughts. So while on the Club Shay Shay podcast earlier this week, host Shannon Sharpe brought up people’s reaction to the 50/50 split. D-Wade is doubling down on what Gabrielle said because they do, in fact, split the finances in half. During an appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast published Monday, the retired NBA star, 41, discussed the 50/50 money split, which made headlines when his wife discussed it during a podcast appearance of her own last month.

Wade explained to host Shannon Sharpe that the agreement came following a comment he flippantly made to the actress, 50, when they lived in Miami.

“I said something about it being my house that I paid for. My wife looked at me and said ‘you will never say that to me again when it’s something that we share,’” he recalled. “My wife was like, ‘when we move to L.A., I got half on it. You will never say my house again.’ She said, ‘you can say that in the arena!’”

He added that they pooled their finances together to buy a fantastic house, but that they don’t pay for everything like that.

“We probably share three things in our life that we’re 50/50 on. Everything else, I’m 1,000%, and she’s 1,000%. We decided that certain things in our life we would share in it,” he continued.

Dwyane explained that they also split costs on their shared daughter. However, they each handle the “20 to 50 responsibilities” that they have personally.

“When I say that, that means she has her mother, she has her sisters, she has her dad so she has a lot of things she’s responsible for,” he said. “She pays 100% of that and you know what I do? I pay 100% of my life.”

D-Wade admitted that as far as family members outside of their home, including Gabrielle’s immediate family, they both 100% take on responsibility for those things separately. But when it comes to the D-Wade/G-Union domicile, they’re in it together, which is why they both signed a prenup.

Wade also spoke about Union signing a prenup in their marriage. “I told her the same way, ‘I’ll sign a prenup too. You’re a millionaire, you got money. You work hard for yourself.’

I don’t see anything wrong with this at all. And I think the amount of shock and awe coming from folks outside their marriage is from people who would fight over the last two pieces of a Kit Kat if it came down to it. But that’s a level of poverty and petty D-Wade, and Gabrielle will hopefully never have to experience in their lifetimes.
